Morton & Bassett Cream of Tartar is a shelf stable spice. This product can be stored in ambient conditions and comes in a 3.7 ounce bottle. Cream of tartar is used in baking meringue and with other egg white recipes; 1/8 teaspoon per egg white will help to stabilize the mixture. Cream of tartar is used to create the quintessential snickerdoodle flavor and will add creaminess or fluffiness when added to frosting, candy, syrups, cakes, and cookies.
